AYO performs 'Uplift'
‘Uplift’ opened the AYO Young Symphonists concert in Canberra on 19 April 2025. Congratulations to conductor Luke Dollman and the musicians for a terrific, exuberant interpretation!

Jessica Wells: A 50th Birthday Celebration
To celebrate her 50th birthday, Jessica and her team are presenting a concert at The Nielson Pier 2/3.
Jessica has brought together 12 of Australia’s top performers for one night only, to present a selection of Jessica’s chamber works including “Neptune’s Daughter” which accompanies a silent film, and “Seven Pieces for Wind Quintet” which previously hasn’t been played for 20 years!

Art Music Awards 2024: Luminary NSW Winner
Jessica has taken home the Luminary - NSW at the 2024 Art Music Awards for her sustained contribution to Australian music through composition and mentorship of emerging composers.

Kandinsky Blue Painting 1924
Each Wednesday in January and February 2024, Ensemble Offspring presents ‘Klange’ at the Art Gallery of NSW, to celebrate the Kandinsky exhibition. Jessica wrote a new work exploring the shapes and gestures of Kandinsky’s “Blue Painting 1924”, which brought the painting to life.

Hush: Nightlight
Hush Foundation’s new album “Nightlight” features songs from 6 Australian songwriters, performed by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Jessica contributed a couple of arrangements to bring these songs to life for orchestra.

ACO Children's Show "Dear Santa"
A Christmassy children’s show featuring letters to Santa from children everywhere, alongside music arranged and composed by Jessica Wells. Including favourite Christmas songs and original new music by Wells, this is a festive performance for the whole family.

"Dolor Ultimae Melodiae" commissioned by Sydney Philharmonia Choirs
“Dolor Ultimae Melodiae” (“Grief of the last song”) is Jessica Wells’ meditation on the ‘Amen’ of Mozart’s Lacrimosa, commissioned to be performed by Sydney Philharmonia Choirs alongside Mozart’s Requiem and other selected Mozart works in 2022.

The Surge 2021
Joined by Queensland band Topology In Brisbane, and leading guitarists Andrew Blanch and Vladimir Gorbach, Ensemble Offspring reignites two classics from the ‘90s by iconic Australian composers Sculthorpe and Westlake, alongside five new commissions from Wells, Wilcox and Davidson, reflecting on the cultural, climate and political situations Australia finds itself in today.
With original live video by Peachey and Mosig, this will be a multi-layered feast of music, ideas, lessons from the past and - with a little luck - hope for the decade ahead!

Bass Instincts : Alicia Crossley
From Alicia: “Very excited to announce that I am one of the lucky recipients of an Australia Council for the Arts project grant. These funds will go toward the commission of 7 new bass recorder compositions by some of Australia’s best female composers, including Anne Elizabeth Boyd, Alice Chance, Holly Harrison, Jessica Wells, Fiona Hill, Amanda Cole and Lisa Cheney, for my recording/performance project ‘Bass Instincts’ in 2021.”

"Clouds" : The Australian Voices
“In 2020 The Australian Voices will commission 22 (mostly) Australian composers on the theme Far and Near. In response to dark concert halls around the world, we are connecting to composers. Yes, these pieces will be performed one day - we don’t know when.”
“Clouds” is a new work for SATB voices which utilises the Latin names for clouds.
